The library’s domains are organized in a way that allows people to collaborate by accessing the library’s collections both physically and virtually. Like that they are able to:
- Send written, video, or audio testimonials about what you lived next to Maurice.
- Share all sorts of intellectual productions held together with Maurice for future reference on the website.
- Consult the catalog and propose new collections and reorganization of the open shelves.
- Creating a narrative in the exhibition space.
In this way, both the memories with Maurice and the exchange with his written work and intellectual heritage will be passed down with new reflections, keeping it alive and updated for future generations.
All contributions, from the sharing of affective memories and intellectual production will be disseminated in this virtual environment. This will allow them to be accessed and shared anywhere in the world.
It is important to inform the visitor that the inauguration of the library is being held but the work is in permanent construction. So people will not initially find all the artifacts from Maurice’s collection cataloged on the site. It is still being organized and will be made available in the possible and voluntary time of the organizers.
We understand that this should not be a reason to postpone its inauguration, because we know that it will always be a process under construction. In this way, you will always have a new surprise waiting for you in every visit to the site or to the physical library in Florianópolis.
We will make every effort to ensure that the content is translated into at least English and French. To do so, all the contributions of translators will be very welcome.
To continue the work we are looking for new ways of sustainability of the library: human, material and financial resources. So don’t hesitate to get in touch!
